Let’s hope TMG gets the green light to play around with more Lexus/Toyota models.
The awesome Lexus LS Concept that TMG unveiled last year has been showcased on the track. Dubbed the TMG Sports 650, the Lexus sedan was reworked by engineers behind Toyota’s F1 and Le Mans racing progams, with the 5.0-liter V8 from the Lexus IS-F given two turbochargers and an intercooler bolted on to produce a massive 650 horsepower and 564 lb-ft of torque. The action was taken at a recent event where the one-off concept was presented to Lexus’ top dogs who must have been impressed by its brutal performance.
Recent tests at the Nurburgring proved the TMG Sports 650 is good for a 200 mph top speed 3.9 seconds 0-60 mph time. The concept was built to showcase what TMG can do with Lexus’ luxury cars. Hopefully it will be enough to convince the bosses to make TMG it, and Toyota’s, official performance sub-brand.
