Vuhl 05 Lined Up for Production

The Mexican carmaker’s recent promotional trip to the UK for the Vuhl 05 track toy has paid off. As after a highly successful outing at the Goodwood Festival of Speed following a private unveiling to a select audience, the Ariel Atom fighter has secured a sufficient number of orders for it to enter production. The aim was for 20 orders to be placed for the top-spec ‘Edition One’ model. With that achieved, production will commence in November with the first cars to reach customers by next spring.Vuhl 05 Lined Up for ProductionVuhl director Guillermo Echeverria said: “We could not have wished for a better response from the media and public alike and, as hoped, it is clear the car is just as appealing to those wanting an ultra-cool car for the road as the serious trackday enthusiasts seeking an alternative to the offerings of more established manufacturers.” Pronounced ‘vool,’ Vuhl stands for Vehicles of Ultra High-performance and Lightweight. Weighing just 695 kg, the VUHL 05 pairs an aluminum chassis to a chrome-moly steel subframe and a body made of RTM reinforced plastic or carbon fiber.
Power, which is sent to the tarmac via a six-speed manual, comes from Ford’s 2.0-liter turbo EcoBoost engine rated at 285 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. This translates to a 3.7-second 0-62 mph time and top speed of 153 mph. The Vuhl 05 is available for purchase now, priced from $89,000.Vuhl 05 Lined Up for ProductionVuhl 05 Lined Up for ProductionVuhl 05 Lined Up for ProductionVuhl 05 Lined Up for ProductionVuhl 05 Lined Up for ProductionVuhl 05 Lined Up for ProductionVuhl 05 Lined Up for Production
